How to Create a Jumia Store from Scratch Step By Step

Signing Up

It is a requirement to sign up as a vendor on the Jumia website; this involves filling in all necessary forms online. After the registration process, you will have access to a store section on the Jumia website where you can upload your products.

Go to the Jumia Website in your country and scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on "Sell on Jumia" as seen in the infographic below. I am using Jumia Ghana for the purpose of this demonstration!

After clicking on the "Sell on Jumia" it will take you to page where you will continue the registration process. Click on "Start selling on Jumia" to continue.

The next page that you will meet is the "SELLERCENTRE" page, there are four different categories of information you must provide here namely the Seller Account, Business Account, Payment Details, and the Summary information. 

So start with the "Seller Account" tap and fill in the information that is required,  agree to the privacy policy and click on continue. It will take you to the "Business Information" tap in that order to the "Summary" tab, then you are done with the registration!


When you do not fill in the required information, you cannot move forward because the page will prompt you to provide the necessary information before you can be taken to the next page.

If you are done with the registration, an email will be sent via the email address that you provided in the registration process. Click on the link sent to your email. You’ll be directed to the Jumia “Seller Center” where you’ll set up the password to your account. Once done, you need to confirm your store. Here, you’ll fill in details on:
  • Personal Information
  • Business Information
  • Bank Account

Training Session

The email sent to you comes with a link to the “Vendor Hub” page. Go back to click on it and have access to the information regarding the training session. The training is done online or offline. Jumia provides a link to YouTube videos for online training.

You’ll get also more tutorials on your “Vendor Hub” page. You’ll have to make a booking for offline training done every weekday.

Once you have signed up you need to upload your store with your products (this usually involves product images, features, specifications, and descriptions).
